Jasmine Short and Shelby Mercer from Highfurlong School were honoured to be keynote speakers at the Teach Us Too Inclusive Literacy: From Principle to Practice conference. The event brought together leaders, teachers and professionals from special school settings across the country to explore how meaningful literacy can remain a genuine entitlement for pupils with complex needs. Jasmine and Shelby shared their experiences and insights, helping to inspire discussion around ambitious, inclusive approaches to literacy. What made the day particularly impactful was the opportunity for professionals from a wide range of settings to come together, reflect honestly on their own practice and consider how meaningful and aspirational literacy opportunities can be embedded for every learner.
