
Highfurlong have been awarded with the Centre of Excellence Mark for MATP (Motor Activity Training Programme) which is the curriculum we use to deliver Physical Education to our pupils with Physical Disabilities. This prestigious recognition was presented by Laura Bexter MBE, Chief executive of Special Olympics Great Britain, and Angela Lyndon, National Manager of MATP after some of our athletes demonstrated their amazing achievements. We are incredibly proud of our amazing students and dedicated staff who have worked so hard to achieve this honour Specifically Chantelle Altham, our Move lead, who drives and organises this subject - ensuring pupils get the best offer and staff trained to a high standard. This award recognises the hard work put into providing opportunities and celebrating the unique abilities of each and every child and young person at Highfurlong. Following the event the team delivering the world said that Highfurlong were a beacon of excellence and that we were one of the best in the world.
