
SEN Teacher
We are seeking to appoint a passionate, resilient, and dedicated Teacher to join the team at The Maple School.
The Maple School is a specialist provision for secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our purpose-built setting supports pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with capacity for up to 48 students spanning Year 5 to Year 11.
Our curriculum offers a range of tailored pathways that include core subjects, meaningful qualifications, and therapeutic interventions. These are carefully designed to support students’ academic development, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in school life.

The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience of teaching and engaging SEND learners, particularly those with SEMH needs
- Deliver high-quality teaching that adapts to individual needs and promotes positive outcomes
- Show enthusiasm, creativity, and resilience in a specialist setting
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, supporting their emotional and behavioural development
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
We are looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about inclusive education and making a difference for vulnerable learners
- Has the ability to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Demonstrates flexibility, resilience, and a positive approach to teaching in a dynamic setting
- Builds strong relationships with pupils and colleagues, fostering mutual respect and high aspirations
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (ECTs are welcome to apply)
