Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Salary: NJC Grade E SCP12-17 £28,598 - £31,022 per annum, pro rata

Stanley Primary School is looking to appoint a committed, hard-working Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm. 

The successful candidate will complement teachers’ delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, students and school policies and strategies. 
They will work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. They will also supervise whole classes for cover purposes & short term absence of teachers. 

The successful candidate will provide support for students, the teacher and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, and to encourage students to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of students in all aspects of school life. 

You should have relevant experience and have a proven record showing ability to:
•    have lots of energy while being flexible, adaptable and able to use your own initiative
•    demonstrate good organisational skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with children, parents, staff and the wider community
•    demonstrate a wide knowledge and application of behavioural strategies, and clearly show how these can be implemented effectively to meet individual children's needs 
•    plan, prepare and deliver learning to individuals, groups and/or classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary.
•    Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment.
•    the post holder will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance

The role also includes a 30-minute lunch duty and 30-minute lunch break each day.
